Established in 2017, we are a small-town, family run karate dojo and MMA center in Capac, Michigan. Owner and Instructor Joe Willis has been training since he was 13, developing his signature shinta kendo karate style, literally meaning "the way of the fist". He has training in jeet kun do, western style wrestling and kickboxing. His wife Cassandra and daughters Cheyenne and Savannah often help out and teach classes.

The dojo has space for students to complete their homework, play with a few toys, and a TV with lots of movies to choose from. The waiting area is very homey and comfortable for moms and dads, and you can hear classes as they are taught. New students can have their parents present for the first couple of classes, but then we encourage parents to stay in the waiting area for the sake of focus for the students.

We have classes for all ages, from potty trained toddlers (the lil ninjas program) to the elderly (chair fitness is a great option for limited mobility!), from beginners to advanced (check out our MMA  training program!)

We do belt testing four times a year. Students must earn two stripes and get permission from Mr Joe to test. Testing packets available upon request. Testing will include things such as Korean vocab and counting, belt tying, level-specific basic punches, kicks, and blocks, katas, community service, sparring, etc.
